Massive/bulldozing and powerful sound, catchy 1970's heavy rock riffs, forceful rhythmic (beat in the vein of Hellhammer) and impressive vocals. So what would we need more! Nothing new (But it even sounds very fresh), but they don't need to revolutionize the genre traditional heavy doom is absolutely irreproachable. A Highlight of 2010. Doom grand cru.

Relatively new band which will rapidly became a major name. The originality of the band comes from the captivating female vocal which are incantatory and haunting. The titles are dinstinctive and inspired which brings an interesting variety to the album. The main musical genre is traditional doom, but there is also psychedelic rock made in 70's in the vein of Coven and Black Widow (it especially concerns the mesmerizing and heavy guitars)  influences and also a hint of black metal . But the general atmosphere is retro, gloomy, occult et cryptic.
A fetid and bubonic soup prepared in the midle of a misty forgotten necropolis by a devilishly seductive witch who won't fail to enchant you!

A waltz dedicated to sadness and misanthropy that bring you alone in a narrow street of a ghost town. This unreal town is diving in penumbra, the atmosphere is paralyzing horror, the wind brings death, but neverless you wander amid this desolated landscape, you believe to perceive a strange little girl with a tambourine hopping, singing to herself, laughing, sniggering, grumbling, yelling and haunting you mind; is it real, is it hallucination? Shivers invade your backbone, however, without reason, you continue to waltz on the beat of this aggressive and Electronic music. And one-two-three,  and one-two-three, waltz, waltz, convulse, convulse, die, die ...

A mix between black metal, electronic, noise (but not shambolic), dissonant melodies, and so many strange influences. A great vocal duo between female Doom folk chant and male Black Metal vocals. It's as cold as Industrial Black Metal and as psychedelic/hypnotic as 70's rock, and the atmosphere (almost ritualistic) could comes from obscure medieval theme (I think to the great band named The Moon Lay Hidden Beneath a Cloud and another Neofolk bands). As you can read, it's really indescribable and unique.

(Hairy) Traditional Doom for purist. Nice soli, powerful drum, instrumental tiltle ("Age of Sorrow" and also an accoustic passage on "Iron Hammer"). Karl Simon's voice, however, is (in my opinion) a bit too recessed. This music is set between Crith Ungold (for the Heavy side) and Saint Vitus (for traditional doom elements) with a hint of Grand Magus. A nice release.

Everything's here: hysteria, fury, darkness, horror and mysticism ... The sound is dirty, the guitars are sizzling and Corven's croakings couldn't be better. They judiciously use keyboards, but the whole remains cold and unhealthy. The fast passages are as intense as the slower and melancholic parts. A result is horribly great. Listen to it and sink into this black hole tinged with onirism. The result is Unspeakable (cf.Lovecraft)

More beautiful and desperated than full of hatred; far from the trve grim black metal clichés and human desipiency; Sombres forêts paints a landscape dedicated to the purity of a nature frozen by an icy snowcoat.  More precisly, this is Black Metal full of atmosphere with longue instrumental passages shredded by tearing screams. An exrtreme beauty which freezes and delights its listeners. A Classic.
